It is clear that microblogging allows different students and professionals the opportunity to exchange ideas regarding various educational topics. I do not feel that is it similar to learning in a regular classroom. The classroom would be considered more straight forward and objective type learning. The interesting part is that each student may view certain types of educational materials slightly different and express this during the blog. For example, it is clear that not smoking is good for your health. My view is that it is best to avoid smoking all together. Another student may feel that one cigarette per day is fine and poses no real health threat. This difference in thoughts can spur a good exchange of ideas. In addition, microblogging gives each student the chance to learn little nuances of information from other students that they may not have ever heard before. In essence, micro-blogging is a good all-around learning experience.
In athletics, I view microblogging as the complete future of sports communication. I cannot think of a better way for fans to relate regarding their favorite quarterback in football or point guard in basketball. Micro-blogging will become more and more popular in the sports world.
